MEXICO CITY – A tense and increasingly unsettling encounter with an unidentified woman during a routine border crossing operation has raised concerns amongst local authorities and fueled speculation about the motivations of individuals operating within the region. The incident occurred late yesterday afternoon near the San Miguel border crossing, approximately 150 kilometers south of Saltillo.

According to preliminary reports, the encounter involved Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal, two young men traveling through the state as part of a documentary project, and a woman described as appearing to be in her late fifties, dressed in a simple, dark dress and wearing a wide-brimmed hat. The woman approached the vehicle while they were stopped for a routine inspection by state police. Initial interactions, according to sources close to the investigation, were initially polite, with the woman engaging in casual conversation about the weather and the surrounding landscape. However, the tone quickly shifted as she began to press the men on their purpose for being in the area.

“She just kept asking… ‘Why are you here? What are you looking for?’ It wasn’t aggressive, exactly,” recounted Marco, a local border patrol officer who witnessed the exchange from a nearby observation post. “But there was something… unsettling about her. The way she looked at us. Like she knew things she shouldn’t.”
