What began as a typically solemn and reflective gathering quickly devolved into a scene of intense emotional distress and, according to initial reports, physical altercations. Authorities are currently investigating the events, which have raised serious questions about the mental health care provided at the institution.

The incident unfolded shortly after the start of the prayer service, led by Father Michael O’Connell.
